Prior to an adoption a matchmaking form must be received and reviewed by MVAS staff. It's a simple and painless procedure but this allows us to insure that the placement is just right for both you and the animal. There is a 24 hour waiting period after we receive the completed matchmaking form from you--this allows you 24 hours to be sure this is what is right for you and it also gives us time to review the matchmaking form. Once the matchmaking form is "approved" you can then pick up your animal and start the great adventure. We have an Adoption Agreement form you read/sign and then you pay the adoption fee and PRESTO--the animal is yours.
LONG DISTANCE ADOPTIONS:
We do adopt our animals to out of state or out of
the area folks. We have actually adopted to all points of the United
States, Canada and Germany. It is a time consuming and labor intensive
process but we are committed to finding ideal homes for all of our animals
so we do not mind the process and are more than willing to "bend over backwards"
for our animals. Unfortunately we are such a small facility and do not
have the financial means to afford the "shipping" of animals, consequently
the adoptor must finance all travel fees/additional Vet. Fees/Shipping crates/etc.
We will make all the arrangements and transport to airports/Vet's etc., to
get the animal to you. Weather permitting most animals can be transported
via Airlines. All animals being transported by public transportation must have current vaccination records, including rabies cert., as well as
a current health certificate from a Veterinarian, etc. We are thrilled
to have our animals adopted out to all areas and encourage those wanting
to adopt from our facility to do so even if they do not live in our area.
A completed matchmaking form is the first place to begin,
emailing us or calling is very beneficial
as we can then tell you more about this animals personality/traits/problems
etc., we try to be open and honest with all their character flaws to best
match you with the ideal companion. NOTE:
If the weather/temperature is extreme (either cold/hot)
the airlines do not allow transportation of animals.
